Library Media Center
Weston Christian Academy’s Library Media Center helps foster a student’s love for reading. It is a place where the minds of students are nurtured and knowledge is expanded so that each student can implement enhanced research and study skills to understand both the complexity and changing nature of God’s world.
The Library Media Center houses age-appropriate literature collections, reference, and current periodicals. The school’s collections and services are designed to help carry out the school’s mission and reflect its Christian philosophy and goals. The Media Center contains a balanced collection of fiction and non-fiction materials to enhance student thinking, inspire student actions, and answer questions about life. The center employs the latest technology including computers, iPads, LCD projector and an electronic catalog.
The Library Media Specialist collaborates closely with WCA faculty to ensure that library use enhances and supplements student learning. The Library Media Center also coordinates book fairs, Teen Read Week, National Children’s Book Week, and supports the school’s Accelerated Reading Program, a program designed to motivate students to read.
